We cite your sources, so you don’t have to.

In July 2017 a friend of mine asked if I could help her write bibliographies for her blog. Her site had around thirty posts, and each page took nearly two hours to track down and cite each source. With that many posts, it would have taken over sixty hours to finish typing all the citations.

This motivated me to write a computer program to speed up the process, bringing the time from over two hours to less than two minutes per page. The whole experience had me wondering, ‘how many other articles on the internet are missing citations?’ And, after scanning hundreds of web pages, I realized the answer was, ‘a lot.’
